Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service is launching a Global Impact Pitch Competition, with support from Citi Ventures. The competition features $20,000 in prize money and networking/mentoring opportunities to help you with implementation. The deadline to apply is November 10th, 2018. (See simple entry form below, which should take less than 15 minutes to complete)

Entry and Selection Criteria: Any current Georgetown University student is eligible to apply, alone or with a committed team. (Teams may include non-GU members, so long as the GU student is a principal founder). Selection criteria include:

  1. Potential to have a positive impact on any international challenge, problem, or issue.
  2. Potential to be financially self-sustainable (generate revenues or secure long-term funding).
  3. Solve a problem or meet a need, that someone is willing to pay for.
  4. Good 'fit' and likelihood of implementation by the founder(s). (I.e., this is not just a competition for 'nice ideas that someone could do,' but something you are eager to implement yourself.)

Ten semi-finalists will be selected and notified by November 12th and asked to give a 2-minute pitch and 5-minute Q&A on November 14 via Zoom, with sympathetic judges who will offer feedback to improve your pitch (this is a dolphin-tank, not Shark Tank). From those, five finalists will be chosen for a live 2-minute pitch at our Awards Ceremony from 6-8pm on Sunday November 18th in the ICC Galleria. Refreshments will be served there, and a "people's choice" cash-award selected by voice vote, so bring your supporters!

The event is hosted by the Landegger Program in International Business Diplomacy (IBD), with additional support from the Wallenberg Foundation, and student support from Georgetown Ventures (a student-run organization fostering the entrepreneurial community of Georgetown).

The following entry form must be completed and submitted by November 10th, 2018. Please use this link to the entry form if it is not appearing below. It should take less than 15 minutes to complete!
