3. Current Role: Co-founder of Minum, a new digital electric utility in Brazil
4. How did your career start and what are some highlights? Upon graduating, I joined Macquarie Capital in Mexico City focused on infrastructure and energy investment in Latin America. I had the opportunity to work on some of the region’s first large-scale renewable energy projects and understand first-hand the challenges in deploying development capital in such a complex and highly regulated environment. I’ve been able to travel across Latin America, meet with local communities and governments and witness up close the transformative impact infrastructure access can have on communities.
5. What is your favorite IBD memory? My favorite IBD memory was simply walking by the SFS Office and continually bumping into professors, speakers and students participating in different topical discussions and events put on by the certificate. I’ve met a lot of wonderful people that have become friends and an invaluable part of my professional network.
6. How did your experience in IBD prepare you for your career? IBD really opened my eyes to the complexity of business across different geographies, cultures, personalities and regulatory environments. The program provides a strong market foundation while exposing the realities of practice vs. theory.
7. What was your most memorable IBD course and why? My most memorable course was on microfinance. It is a great example of the challenges and opportunity of deploying capital towards sustainable economic development. There is huge opportunity in the transition towards a circular economy that requires leaders that understand both private and public objectives and perspectives.
