Public Speaking Workshop with Ann Timmons

Wednesday, April 7th  6:00 to 8:30 p.m. – Zoom link will be sent with confirmation of seat

Our Public Speaking Workshop with Ann Timmons is a great opportunity for anyone looking to improve their public speaking skills, and particularly useful for those of you preparing for interviews, oral exams, and pitch competitions.

To give students an awareness that every time they speak publicly they engage in communication that is more performance than private conversation;

To give students the tools they need to communicate effectively using their physical selves: their voices and their bodies. Special emphasis will be placed on strategies for achieving optimal posture, gestures/body language, vocal tone, pacing, and eye contact;

To give students opportunities for practice, peer feedback and professional feedback to adjust and enhance their communication styles to achieve success outcomes;

To give students templates for preparation of special public speaking events.

Ann has a background as a professional stage and screen actor, voice-over talent, corporate spokesperson and speechwriter. Currently Ann splits her time consulting as a valued speech coach to private clients, non-profits, and businesses, and writing and producing her award-winning plays.
