SFS Global Impact Pitch Competition

Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service is home to the Global Impact Pitch Competition, an innovative entrepreneurship event hosted by the Landegger Program and serving the entire Georgetown University student community. The competition features thousands of dollars in prize money for finalists and networking and mentoring opportunities to support implementation. All finalists receive some funding.
The application for the 8th Annual Global Impact Pitch Competition will open in Spring 2026.
Entry and Selection Criteria: Any student enrolled full-time at Georgetown University during this academic year (in part or in full) is eligible to apply, alone or with a committed team. Teams may include non-GU members, so long as the GU student is a principal founder. Selection criteria include:
- Potential for positive impact on an international challenge, problem, or issue (broadly defined).
- Potential for financial self-sustainability (revenue generation or long-term funding).
- Solve a problem or meet a need that someone is willing to pay for.
- Strong founder ‘fit’, high likelihood of implementation, and impact of a GIPC award. (I.e., this is not just a public-speaking or ‘nice idea’ competition—it’s for ventures you are eager to pursue yourself.)
